Young People Take on Sailing, High Ropes and Archery at Cobnor Adventure Day
Posted 27th August 2026
Some of our young people enjoyed an exciting outdoor adventure this week during a visit to Cobnor Activity Centre in the stunning surroundings of Chichester Harbour. The group took part in a range of challenging and rewarding activities designed to build confidence, teamwork and new skills.
One of the highlights of the day was keelboat sailing, where participants had the opportunity to learn the basics of sailing while exploring the beautiful waters of the harbour. For many, it was a new experience and a chance to develop skills while enjoying time on the water.
The group also tackled the high ropes activity through crate stacking, an exercise that required communication, trust and teamwork. Young people worked together to build and climb increasingly tall towers of crates, encouraging each other every step of the way and demonstrating impressive determination.
Another standout activity was archery, where the young people quickly found their aim. The group achieved numerous bullseyes throughout the session, with one participant even successfully hitting the instructor's renowned "impossible shot" target, an achievement that left the instructor highly impressed.
With glorious weather throughout the day and the picturesque backdrop of Chichester Harbour, the visit was a memorable experience for everyone involved. The combination of outdoor adventure, teamwork and skill-building made for a fun-filled and rewarding day that was enjoyed by all.
The trip was a fantastic opportunity for the young people to challenge themselves, try new activities and create lasting memories in a beautiful setting.
